How It All Began:
EM Consultants was founded in August 1994 by President and Chief Executive Officer Emma McGraw Myers, MSW. Myers, who is registered with the South Carolina Secretary of State as a professional fundraiser counsel, is listed with Dunn and Bradstreet, and is a member of the Central Carolina Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). Originating as a consulting firm for community capacity building among nonprofit organizations and faith-based groups, EM Consultants assists small businesses, entrepreneurship, and corporations in developing business plans, increasing business productivity, and improving employee job performance.

About the CEO/President
Emma McGraw Myers is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Advanced Care Management, LLC (ACM) which employs case managers statewide to conduct assessments, develop service plans, and provide care coordination to the elderly and disabled on Medicaid. She works closely with ACM’s CEO Tim Davis to ensure that their case managers meet or exceed quality assurance guidelines and excel in client satisfaction expectations. ACM--founded in 2007--is the second-largest case management company in the state.

Born in Hartsville but reared in Columbia, she is a second-generation graduate of Richland School District One. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work and a Master's Degree in Social Work Administration from Florida State University. Her professional career began in 1975 as a management trainee with United Way. She holds leadership positions on numerous local, state, and national civic and community boards including AARP-SC Executive Council, Benedict-Allen Community Development Corporation, Columbia Council of Neighborhoods, and the National Association of Black Social Workers. Ms. Myers is highly acclaimed for conducting engaging board governance training, productive strategic planning sessions, and successful golf tournaments. She mentors and encourages others to strive to be their very best.
She is married to Retired Brigadier General Ralph E. Bailey of Columbia. Myers is a 47-year Silver Star and Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc and a 20+ year member of First Nazareth Baptist Church. Mrs. Myers-Bailey worked for nearly 20 years in both the national and local offices of United Way in various capacities. She was the first African-American appointed as President and Chief Professional Officer of the United Way of Richland County (Mansfield, OH) and the first African-American CPO of the United Way of Aiken (SC) County—earning her the reputation of a “trailblazer”.
